Project Overview

QCAB partnered with Hilton-affiliated hotel franchise operators to deliver a high-quality elevator cab interior upgrade aligned with Hilton brand standards. While QCAB does not work directly with Hilton corporate, each project was designed to reflect the visual, quality, and durability expectations associated with the Hilton brand.

As a live hospitality environment, the project demanded fast turnaround, consistent craftsmanship, and efficient installation without extended elevator downtime.

The Challenge

For hotel properties, elevator upgrades must balance four key factors:

  • Cost control without sacrificing premium finishes

  • High-quality materials suitable for frequent guest use

  • Short lead times to meet refurbishment schedules

  • Rapid installation to keep elevators operational

Traditional elevator interior suppliers often involve long manufacturing lead times and multi-day installations, creating unnecessary downtime and higher costs for hotel operators.

The QCAB Solution

QCAB delivered a hospitality-focused cab interior solution designed to elevate guest experience while streamlining delivery and installation.

By manufacturing in-house and using modular, code-compliant systems, QCAB was able to:

  • Reduce overall project costs

  • Cut manufacturing lead times in half

  • Complete installation within a single working day

The result was a refined, durable interior that met Hilton’s expectations for quality, consistency, and performance.

The Results

Cost Efficiency
QCAB reduced overall project costs by 30–50% compared to traditional elevator interior suppliers.

Lead Time

  • QCAB manufacturing lead time: 4 weeks

  • Typical industry lead time: 8 weeks

This allowed Hilton to complete upgrades faster and maintain project momentum.

Installation Time

  • QCAB installation time: 4–6 hours per cab

  • Traditional installation time: 1–2 days

Elevators were returned to service the same day, minimising disruption to guests and hotel operations.

The Outcome

Hilton received a premium, hospitality-grade elevator interior that enhanced the guest experience while reducing downtime, costs, and operational impact. QCAB’s efficient design, manufacturing, and installation process proved ideally suited for high-traffic hotel environments where speed and quality are equally critical.

QCAB was founded by Jim Maton, an experienced manufacturing engineer with a long career in industrial and elevator manufacturing. Having worked as a general manager at a cab manufacturing company, Jim saw first-hand how outdated processes limited innovation and increased costs across the industry. When that business dissolved, QCAB was launched with a clear vision: to create a modern, efficient, and scalable solution for elevator cab interiors that benefits both manufacturers and installers.
